Detection of OFDM over acoustic channels is challenged by estimation of the highly time varying channel and the ensuing inter-carrier interference (ICI). While the common approach to reduce ICI is equalization over the carriers, we will discuss more effective methods which compensate for the channel variations in time domain. The experimenal results from a recent experiment in the ocean will be followed by a real-time over-the air demo of the discussed methods which is used to transmit live video over the acoustic channel.
